Vietnam vet John Rubin returns to New York and rents a rundown flat in Greenwhich Village. It is in this flat that he begins to film, 'Peeping Tom' style, the people in the apartment across the street. His obsession with making films leads him to fall in with a radical 'Black Power' group, which in turn leads him to carry out a bizarre act of urban terrorism!

Baby be blacker than black
Both satirical and black this early Brian De Palma film is hiliarious. Robert De Niro plays a pre-'Taxi driver' looney who films people in the neighbouring building and joins a black militant group, of whom are fighting 'The man'
I guess this started off De Palma's Hitchcock fixation carreer of paying homeage to the main man. RE: Rear window.
