I didn't understand it
Very difficult piece of film-making to follow. I knew nothing about this film when I saw it and this enhanced its effect. Use of music is just wonderful. As I don't speak Japanese, the use of subtitles detracted from the experience – some lines of dialogue are plain illegible upon the gorgeous monochrome photography. The film, at just over an hour long, ventures deep into the sublime and the plain ridiculous. It always, however, maintains a strong grasp of location and isolation upon the locked off rooftop where most of the shots are made.
So, basically, I don't understand this film, but found it fascinating and totally f***ed up; very good but not great.
