Fun an unforgettable black comedy by Berlanga.
"¡Vivan los novios!", is a film directed by Luis García Berlanga which tells the story of Leo Pozas "(López Vázquez), a middle-aged man, who travels to a Mediterranean village, with his elderly mother to marry his girlfriend "Loli "(Laly Soldevilla). But of course, prevented from seeing his bride until the wedding, surrounded by Swedish girls in bikinis on the beach, "Leo" starts to worry.
It's a portrait of a poor man overwhelmed by the circumstances and the will overturned completely, with a sense of uncomfortable and unpleasant humor, based primarily on embarrassment and more painful pathos bordering the grace and suffering, a man living a drama existential trapped in a grotesque mockery.
The approach of the film is same to other Spanish films of the same time as "Es peligroso casarse a los 60" or "No desearás al vecino del quinto". These films present us with the stereotype of the Spanish citizen at the time, exaggerated in their performances, as well as in situations in which it operates. The film, despite its repeated approach is very successful the idea of a film surreal and absurd humor.
The film becomes very funny in several scenes, makes you a good time living the foiled attempt to fling the protagonist, Jose Luis Lopez Vazquez, with the blonde girl of his dreams in full eve of his wedding with "Loli. " And it is worth highlighting the unforgettable and surreal scene of the "hippy" funeral with the deceased mother of "Leo".
"¡Vivan los novios!", can be seen as a hinge film Share film styles with its first phase and precedes the gross features of his cinema from "La escopeta nacional. " It's a film to claim and where José Luis López Vázquez out as the best actor, along with the splendid Laly Soldevilla, the couple wanted Berlanga for "boutique" and could not be.
